What You Will Do
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 100-bed medical ICU where you will treat patients needing a wide variety of care. You will need to focus on attention to detail, be safety oriented and understand fall/slip prevention, and take personal initiative to help your team. Patients here can be ventilated, have trach, transplants, intake from the ER, rapid response, and sepsis.
Besides ADL's such as bathing, feeding, and grooming, you will be transporting patients to things like MRI or CT scans, answering call lights, ordering supplies. As an Associate with Saint Thomas Health Svcs-TN, you will have the opportunity to perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision in assigned area.
Aids with entry and exit of patients.
Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living (ADL’s) such as bathing, grooming, feeding.
Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
Responsible for keeping patient rooms clean and orderly as well as maintaining medical equipment.
What You Will Need
- Required Credential(s):
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. For current incumbents as of 4/30/18, BLS required upon expiration of Heart Saver.
- High school diploma or GED required- verified by background checks
