Research Manager position open at St Vincent’s Health System. Candidates must have an active IRB certification. Doctor of Pharmacy preferred but will consider BSN or other healthcare degree with the right experience.

About our two largest hospitals:
St. Vincent’s Birmingham is located downtown, and it has over 400 beds and provides space for many physician offices. We rank as a top five hospital in the world for the number of overall robotic prostatectomies performed. St. Vincent’s Birmingham performs several robotic procedures: cardiac, gynecologic and urologic.
St. Vincent’s East is licensed for 362 beds and is located just 20 minutes from downtown. It sits between Irondale and Trussville, AL. It is a general medical and surgical facility that offers a variety of programs and services to fit individual, corporate, and community needs. It is the second largest Ascension hospital in the Birmingham area. It is situated on a hill overlooking the beautiful community of Trussville, AL. St. Vincent’s East provides all the service lines that our downtown hospital provides except for Birth Suites and NICU which is exclusive to our downtown location. It is the home for our only Behavioral Health service line and offers a level III Emergency Department.
About the job:
Fulltime, Exempt, Day Shift. Primary location will be St. Vincent’s Birmingham.
Manage the daily operations of a clinical research department including clinical trials.
- Conducts hiring, training, directing, developing, and evaluating of staff.
- Oversees clinical trials through all stages.
Within the scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Requirements and hiring preferences:
- Required Credential(s): Institutional Review Board (IRB certification required.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s in healthcare related field
- Preferred Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D)
- 2-3 years’ experience in healthcare. Preferably in human research and welfare.
